Watershed District Advisory Committees

SAW’s District Advisory Committees (DACs) have been established for SAW’s Northwest, Southwest, Southeast and Northeast Watershed Districts. Their role is to advise SAW’s Board of Directors on district and watershed needs and programming.

The DAC includes up to a maximum of 18 individuals who bring relevant information and knowledge and have a passion for protecting and conserving watershed ecosystems at a district level. The DACs includes representation from rural and urban municipalities, Indigenous communities, industry (e.g., Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing, Forestry, Tourism and Recreation), provincial and federal government, non-government organizations (NGOs), and academia and/or research, etc. The DAC is led by a selected Chair and a dedicated SAW staff member. DAC’s nominate district representatives to fill the SAW Board of Directors.

SAW holds quarterly meetings with each DAC to discuss regional watershed initiatives, recommendations, and programming opportunities within SAW’s Watershed Districts.
